Final Snapshots of 2015

“Last time I’m having breakfast this year.”

“Last time I’m eating strawberries.”

My two little sibs love to play this game whenever New Year’s Eve swings round. They try to think of all the things they’re doing for the last time that day and year, anything ranging from brushing teeth to getting out of bed. At some point, it suddenly hit me: it was the last day to capture 2015 moments with my camera. Having been painfully dormant in the way of taking photos lately, I felt like I was letting the last bits of the year slip through my fingers. So out came my restless camera, and a few first snaps quickly brought quite a few more. 🙂

New Year’s Eve snapshots + thoughts below.

You know, I can’t say enough how appreciative I am for everything that has happened this year. I feel like I’ve learned, failed, triumphed and grown in more ways than I ever have, met with tons of new and unexpected challenges, and been surprised like I’d never hoped for. There were some pretty mean lows in the whole roller coaster ride, but looking back I can see how they’ve helped me become a better person. If there’s one lesson I can come away with, it’s to not take everything too seriously and risk losing the true essence of life.

While I can’t say for sure what 2016 holds for me, there are a whole bunch of plans and things I’m looking forward to (in keeping with my ambitious nature!). So here goes an off-the-top-of-my-head list of stuff that’s got me excited for this coming year: starting year two of uni / attempting to manage my time better, lol / continuing to pursue my artistic passions / revamping my online shop / getting my driver’s license (super excited!!) / writing for my uni’s student blog / becoming healthier / picking up the guitar again / giving art tuition / and of course writing this blog.

But before I get ahead of myself and the new year, I think I’ll leave it at that for now.

Happy New Year everyone! Hello 2016.
